course description
Purpose of the Course:
This course is thoughtfully designed to enhance your critical thinking skills and equip you with a practical understanding of both avoidance (preventative) and response (remedial) strategies. The content aims to bridge the gap between theory and real-world application, ensuring you are prepared to recognize, assess, and address situations with greater clarity and confidence.
The class covers:
- Castle Law/Stand Your Ground Law
- Blocks to Communication
- Triggers/Inhibitors to Aggression
- Self/3rd Party Induced Pressures
- Decision Making Cycle
- Warning Signs of Escalating Behavior
- Case Study Discussions
- Carjacks
- Road Rage Incidents
- Crowds Surrounding the Vehicle
- Scenario Training
- Threat-specific Live firing exercises
Critical Thinking Development – What is actually happening? versus What you think is happening?
Understanding Avoidance (Preventative) Options – How did I get myself in this situation?
Exploring Response (Remedial) Options – What are you legally permitted to do?
Achieving More Appropriate and Effective Responses – Just because you are legally permitted to do something, doesn’t always mean you should, nor does it mean you have the mindset to do it.
