Vehicle Defense (LEO/MIL)

Operating from a vehicle platform sounds easy – until something goes wrong.

The most important aspect of working “effectively” from a vehicle platform is accepting and understanding that you are NOT in control of anything outside of that vehicle: other road users, pedestrians and normal street life, are all unpredictable, unforeseeable even – you are in control of nothing outside your vehicle.

Once we accept that, then we get a clearer idea of “stuff” that can go wrong, which allows us to concentrate on what we can do to avoid, respond to and manage it.

course description

It doesn’t really get any worse than reacting to and/or initiating, a contact, from inside a vehicle, in a busy street-scene environment, when you cannot drive through or reverse away, from the threat.

There are so many factors that will affect HOW you might respond and WHAT options are available to you – a one-size-fits-all approach rarely works and, because of that, we have designed this course to specifically address the confusion and chaos of being in an attack on you, whilst mobile, irrespective of whether it’s a planned attack or opportunistic in design.

Simply assuming you will always be able to drive through, reverse out or throw in a J-turn, will only result in being unprepared for the complexities of defending yourself/your team, from a vehicle platform, in a street-scene environment.
